Both Invisalign and ClearCorrect are advanced orthodontic systems that use clear, custom-fitted aligners to straighten your teeth. These aligners work like metal braces, slowly and gently shifting your teeth to a straighter, healthier position. Surrey Place Dental Group is the place to go for Invisalign and ClearCorrect clear aligners in the Surrey, BC area. These FAQs explain more about clear aligners and how they work.
In the hands of our skilled dental team, clear aligners can correct a myriad of orthodontic issues, including crooked and crowded teeth, spacing problems, overbites, underbites, and other types of malocclusion. A consultation with our dental team will determine if Invisalign and ClearCorrect are right for you.Â
The first step is an evaluation of your smile to assess the areas that need improvement. From there, we can plan your treatment using 3D imaging to visualise how your smile will look once you complete your treatment. Then we’ll customise a series of aligners for your use. You’ll wear the aligners day and night, 20 to 22 hours a day, removing them primarily to eat and brush and floss your teeth. The longer the aligners remain on your teeth, the quicker you’ll see results. You’ll switch to a new set of aligners every few weeks to shift your teeth until you achieve your smile goals.
As every Invisalign treatment is unique, there’s no set time for completion. It just depends on the problems you want to fix. The average time frame, however, is 12 to 18 months.Â
You can eat anything you like as long as you remove the aligners beforehand; the only exception is water. We do, however, encourage you to eat healthy foods to avoid the risk of cavities. You should also brush after every meal to keep your teeth as bacteria-free as possible. Good oral habits will keep your teeth healthy and strong throughout your procedure.
You’ll probably experience some discomfort at the beginning and when switching to new aligners due to the pressure exerted on your teeth. This pressure is what moves your teeth and shows the aligners are working as they should. After a brief adjustment period, your discomfort will cease. Â
Gently brush them with clear liquid soap or Invisalign solution every time they’re removed and rinse with warm water. Store them in a safe place when removed to avoid loss or damage.Â
Invisalign is known for its convenience, discretion (the clear aligners are barely noticeable on your teeth), and effectiveness in giving you the smile you’ve always dreamed of!   Â
